J Boog

His stage name came from his grandmother calling him "Boogie" because of his love of dancing, and the J simply the initial of his first name. He is a former member of R&B group B2K.


Biography
Early years
Houston was born in Los Angeles, California, raised in Compton, California and has been rapping, singing and dancing since the age of eight. He is a cousin of actor/singer Marques Houston.
B2K
Houston was a member of the boy group B2K, along with Omarion, Raz-B and Lil' Fizz.
Houston starred in You Got Served, the hit dance movie, with his band mates in B2K, along with Marques Houston and Young Rome.Houston (Jarell) played the character Rico, the peacemaker of the group.
Solo career
In 2004, Houston and Lil' Fizz started their own record label called Fizz and Boog Inc.
Houston is signed to record label Capitalist Entertainment. He was scheduled to release his first solo album, My First Words, in summer of 2008. On September 4, Boog and Fizz premiered a new video titled Bounce.
Personal life
