Opinions about Oath Keepers
In the Southern Poverty Law Center's quarterly Intelligence Report, an article written by Larry Keller stated that the Oath Keepers "may be a particularly worrisome example of the Patriot revival." However, David Codrea has written a couple of articles at Examiner.com describing the SPLC report as a smear of the Oath Keepers. One of the highest-profile members of the Oath Keepers, former Graham County sheriff Richard Mack, has been described by the SPLC as a "longtime militia hero" and criticized for his controversial statements, such as declaring that county sheriffs are the highest form of law enforcement when it comes to protecting individuals' constitutional rights.
