P is the sixteenth letter of the modern Latin alphabet. Its name in English is spelled pee or occasionally pe (pronounced /piː/).
History
The Semitic Pê (mouth), as well as the Greek Π or π (Pi), and the Etruscan and Latin letters that developed from the former alphabet, all symbolized /p/, a voiceless bilabial plosive.
Usage
In English and most other European languages, P is a voiceless bilabial plosive.
Both initial and final Ps can be combined with many other discrete consonants in English words.
