Sacramento Zoo
Tall Wonders Giraffe Exhibit Expansion
Beginning in 2009 the Sacramento Zoo will be starting construction on a new barn and yard for the giraffes at the zoo. The current 40 year old wooden barn will be demolished and replaced with a new state of the art barn made of concrete blocks.
The new barn will have a breedin facility for a future giraffe breeding program at the zoo, many large stalls for the current herd and soon to come giraffes. The new yard will have a lake for the giraffes to drink from a barrier made of trees and rocks, and a pavillon for visitors to get a eye to eye view with the giraffes.
